By: Nicole Como

John Mayer is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer. He is 40-years-old and was born on October 16, 1977. He was raised in Fairfield, Connecticut. He was first known on the music scene for his cover of “Free Falling” by Tom Petty. His cover is sometimes the better known version of this song.

down the line. John Mayer currently is the winner of 8 Grammy Awards and have been recognized for his impact on the music industry countless times.

He is one of my favorite musicians of all time. I have seen him in concert twice and I plan on seeing him again this summer. Some of his most well known songs are “Daughters” and “Waiting on the World to Change.” Yet, my favorite song by him is less well known. It is called, “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room.”

The way John combines his lyrics with the music that accompanies it really shows the emotions he feels when he is performing them. An example of this is when I saw him in concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City, John Mayer used a variety of different instruments to convey themes and feelings that he wanted the audience to feel and it worked. Audience members of all ages attended this concert from young kids who enjoy the upbeat songs to grandparents who enjoy his lyrics about the realities of life.
