"The Vampire Diaries" Spawns New CW Series

After Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries and a successful new edition to the cast, an interest began to bud with the character family known as the Mikaelsons (The Originals). As Season 4 received even more viewers than in the past, the creators and directors of The VD decided to give The Originals their own spin-off. So far, The Originals is holding its own nested on Tuesday nights on the CW Network.

The Originals is set in New Orleans and is based on the family drama of Niklaus (Joseph Morgan), Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Elijah Mikaelson (Daniel Gillies). Klaus has returned to New Orleans, his hometown, and has found that a new vampire has now taken his place as king of the city. Klaus also learns that he has an unborn child with werewolf Hayley (also from The VD). The drama unfolds as Klaus decides how to cope with his unborn heir and how to regain his “kingdom” once more in The Big Easy.
