The Crying Eyes

Watercolor and charcoal eye painting Watercolor eye painting.

Each of these pieces has a particular story to me. First, I will talk about the watercolor and charcoal eye that are on the left. I painted this eye for a final artistic presentation my freshman year in college. The presentation was on the perception of beauty based on different pieces of literature that we read in class. The eye cried in color to signify that we ignore true beauty in the world.

The second piece is entirely made of watercolor and was inspired by a photograph sent to me by a friend. This painting was an experimental prainting for me, as I played around with new professional watercolors. I wanted the eye to look glassy and slightly reflective.
