I have experience in teaching digital media and design courses in both online and face-to-face classroom settings. I have taught two online graduate courses on emerging media. Of them, User Experience (UX) is largely a hands-on course where students learn UX research and design techniques utilizing human-centered design approach.
Another online graduate course that I taught is very critical thinking-oriented course where students had to discuss contemporary issues in the context of political, cultural, social and economic impacts of social media.
At undergraduate level, I have taught a number of courses. I created a new course on Mobile Media, where students not only discuss various impacts of mobile media but also gain skills in storytelling for mobile web and app prototyping.
I also co-led the process of creating a new required undergraduate course — digital tools — at Loyola University Maryland’s Communication Department. It is a 200-level course where majors or non-majors can learn about the basics of popular software applications in the fields of communication and digital media, ranging from Adobe Creative Suite through WordPress and smartphone-based audio and video recording and editing using Adobe Premiere Rush and SoundTrap.
Below I have linked syllabi of digital and social media courses that I have taught thus far at both Loyola University Maryland and Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.
