About Channel 13
The goal of Channel 13 is to become a student oriented television channel that will encourage a sense of community.
Programming for Channel 13 will be focused on the promotion of:
- student amateur/self-produced media
- student organization productions
- student-produced coursework / LTS supported media
- athletics productions
Value
Channel 13 has the potential to be a valuable resource across many areas of Messiah's campus.
From an academic standpoint, opportunities exist for internships, practicums, work-study positions and major-related experience.
Any of these would be outstanding additions to students’ resumes as “out of the classroom” experience.
The channel has the ability to reach people through an established medium. Putting a face to an organization is much more personal than a cold, text-only email.
This will generate new interest and increase student involvement.
Aside from the students, the channel can offer an outlet for different departments to promote upcoming events, and it can potentially provide internal-marketing for the college.
