Ally and Paul Sandford leading the race.

How Did Paul and Ally Take the Win?

With only two months of training, Paul and Ally Sandford were crowned the winners of the double kayak race.

Paul and Ally were interviewed after the race. Paul said, "We kayak every weekend for fun. We did not expect to win, but I guess our weekend hobby has turned into a competitive sport".

Paul and Ally were tied with the team in blue kayak for the majority of the race. Something happened in the water that guided them to the win.

Ally said, "We were tied with the blue kayak the whole time until they paddled to far out and got pulled by the current. We may not be experienced kayakers, but we have learned our way around this beach and we know which currents to avoid, which put us at a great advantage".

Congrats to our winners this summer and we hope they return to participate in next year's race. Their fans will be looking for them next summer!
